NASA Finds Old Stars and a Small Galaxy

NASA 發現古老恆星與一個小型星系

Introduction

NASA has new photos of a group of stars called NGC 6426 and a very old galaxy called MXDFz4.4.

NASA 拍攝了一組名為 NGC 6426 的恆星群,以及一個非常古老的星系 MXDFz4.4。

Main Body

The Hubble Telescope took photos of NGC 6426. These stars are 13 billion years old. Some stars are blue and hot. Other stars are red and cool.

哈伯望遠鏡拍攝了 NGC 6426 的照片。這些恆星有 130 億年的歷史。有些恆星是藍色且高溫的。其他恆星則是紅色且低溫的。

NASA also found a small galaxy called MXDFz4.4. It is much smaller than our galaxy. But it makes new stars very fast.

NASA 還發現了一個名為 MXDFz4.4 的小型星系。它比我們的星系小得多。但它產生新恆星的速度非常快。

This small galaxy had very strong light. The light moved through a thick gas in space. This helped the universe become clear.

這個小型星系擁有非常強的光芒。光線穿過了太空中濃厚的氣體。這幫助了宇宙變得清晰。

Conclusion

These photos help scientists understand how the universe started.

Vocabulary Learning

🌌 The 'Opposite' Pair

Look at how the text describes stars. It uses a simple pattern to show differences:

  • Blue \rightarrow Hot
  • Red \rightarrow Cool

⚡ Fast vs. Slow

The text says the galaxy makes stars "very fast."

To describe things in your life, use: [Subject] + [Verb] + [Adverb]

  • The galaxy (Subject) + makes (Verb) + very fast (Adverb).
  • I (Subject) + walk (Verb) + slowly (Adverb).

📏 Comparing Sizes

When we talk about two things, we add -er to the word:

Small \rightarrow Smaller

Example from text: "It is much smaller than our galaxy."

Rule: Use "Smaller than..." when comparing a tiny thing to a big thing.
