現在許多人投票給「一國黨」。一些領袖,例如 Andrew Hastie,希望與「一國黨」對抗。他表示「一國黨」過於激進,因此他想向民眾展示「一國黨」與聯盟的不同之處。

🚩 The 'Want To' Pattern

In this text, we see a very common way to talk about goals or desires.

The Pattern: Person + want to + action

  • Andrew Hastie want to fight...
  • Tony Abbott want to work...
  • The government want to limit...

Why this helps you (A2): Instead of using complex words for 'desire' or 'intention,' just use want to. It is the fastest way to tell someone what your plan is.

Quick Shift \rightarrow If the person is just one man or woman (He/She), add an 's':

  • He wants to show...

⚖️ Opposites in the Story

To reach A2, you need to describe conflicts. Look at these two opposite actions from the article:

  1. Fight \rightarrow To be against someone.
  2. Work with \rightarrow To be on the same side.

Example: "Some leaders fight the party, but others work with them."
