⚡ The 'Past' Power

To talk about things that already happened, we usually add -ed to the end of the action word. This is the easiest way to tell a story in English.

Look at these changes from the text:

  • Celebrate \rightarrow Celebrated
  • Cause \rightarrow Caused
  • Watch \rightarrow Watched

⚠️ The Rule Breakers (Irregular) Some words are 'rebels' and change their whole shape. You must memorize these:

  • Give \rightarrow Gave
  • Have \rightarrow Had
  • Make \rightarrow Made

Quick Tip for A2: If you see a word like finished or walked, you are reading about the past. If you see gave or had, it is also the past, just a different style!
