💡 The 'Not' Power
In this story, people are disagreeing. To say 'no' in English, we use do not or does not. This is the most important tool for a beginner to express a negative idea.
How it works:
- I / You / We / They do not (Example: They do not agree)
- He / She / It does not (Example: The government does not agree)
🛠️ Word Swap: 'Say' vs 'Tell'
Notice how the article uses 'say' many times.
- The government says...
- Leaders say...
Simple Rule: Use SAY when you are reporting the words someone spoke.
A2 Tip:
Say focuses on the message.
Tell focuses on the person receiving the message (e.g., Tell me the truth).
