Vocabulary Learning
📍 Where did it happen?
In this text, we see a pattern for talking about places.
The Pattern: In + City/State
- In Rochester
- In New York City
- In California
- In Los Angeles
Why this helps you reach A2: To describe events, you must link the action to the location. Use "In" for cities, states, and countries.
Example Shift: I live In Tokyo. Violence happened In Michigan.
🕒 Past Actions (Simple Verbs)
Look at how the story tells us what happened. The verbs change to show the past:
- Meet Met
- Use Used
- Die Died
- Break Broke
Quick Tip: Most English verbs just need -ed at the end to move to the past. Some (like met and broke) are "rebels" and change their spelling completely.
