The 'Action' Logic

In this story, things happen in a very simple way. To speak A2 English, you need to connect Who did What.

1. The Simple Connection Look at how the text builds a sentence:

  • Police (Who) \rightarrow find (Action) \rightarrow the name (What).
  • Professor Abbott (Who) \rightarrow studied (Action) \rightarrow DNA (What).

2. Now vs. Then Notice how the words change when the time changes:

Past (Finished)Present (Now)
studiedis
dug upwant
diedare

3. Useful 'Building' Words These small words help the story flow:

  • To \rightarrow shows the reason (to find names).
  • By \rightarrow shows the deadline (by the end of this year).
  • Too \rightarrow shows a problem (too old).
