Introduction

The United States government started 'Trump Accounts'. These are special savings accounts for people under 18 years old.

Main Body

Children born between 2025 and 2028 get $1,000 from the government. All children under 18 can have an account. Parents manage the money. At age 18, the child takes the money. They can use it for college, a house, or a business.

Family and friends can put money in the account. They can add up to $5,000 every year. The money goes into the stock market to grow.

Many big companies and rich people are giving money to these accounts. For example, the Dell family and SpaceX gave a lot of money to help poor children. Some experts worry that rich families will get more help than poor families.

💡 The 'Money Action' Map

In this text, we see how verbs change when we talk about money. For a beginner, the most useful pattern here is how we move money from one place to another.

The Flow of Cash:

  • Get → To receive (Government \rightarrow Child)
  • Manage → To control/look after (Parent \rightarrow Money)
  • Put in / Add → To increase the total (Family \rightarrow Account)
  • Give → To provide for someone else (Rich people \rightarrow Poor children)
  • Take → To remove or collect (Child \rightarrow Account)

Quick A2 Tip: Simple Plurals Notice how we describe groups of people. We just add -s:
