🌍 How to describe 'Doing' and 'Having'

In this text, we see two very important ways to talk about the world. One is about possession (what we have) and one is about action (what we do).

1. The "Have" Pattern We use has/have to show what a country or person owns or possesses.

  • India has half of the plant food... \rightarrow (India possesses this amount now)
  • India has enough... \rightarrow (India possesses the required amount)

2. The "Doing" Pattern (Simple Present) When something is a general fact or a current state, we use the simple form of the verb.

  • Ships move... \rightarrow (General action)
  • Turkey is doing well... \rightarrow (Current state/progress)

💡 Word Swap: Better Vocabulary

Instead of using basic words, the text uses these 'A2-level' words to be more specific:

  • Goods \rightarrow things that are sold (like food or clothes).
  • Supplies \rightarrow a stock of things needed (like food or medicine).
