⚡ The 'Action' Pattern

Look at how we describe things that happened in the story. We use a simple formula: Who/What \rightarrow Action (Past) $

  • The wind \rightarrow was fast.
  • Buildings \rightarrow broke.
  • People \rightarrow died.
  • A hill \rightarrow fell.

Why this matters for A2: To tell a story, you don't need long words. You just need a Subject and a Past Action.

Quick Guide: Now vs. Then

  • Now: The ocean is warm. \rightarrow (Present state)
  • Then: The wind was fast. \rightarrow (Past state)

Common Word Pairings from the text:

  • Big \rightarrow storms
  • Very \rightarrow fast
  • More \rightarrow bad weather
