Vocabulary Learning

🕒 Past vs. Present

In this story, we see how to talk about things that already happened and things that are true now.

The Past (Finished) We add -ed to the action word to show it is over:

  • Remove \rightarrow removed
  • Want \rightarrow wanted

Special words (they change completely):

  • Go \rightarrow went
  • Say \rightarrow said
  • Do \rightarrow did

The Present (Current State) We use simple words for facts or feelings right now:

  • The government says... (Fact)
  • Some people are unhappy. (Feeling)
  • They want the office to be honest. (Goal)

Quick Tip: If you see -ed, think Yesterday. If you don't see it, think Now.
