⏳ The 'Time' Shift

Notice how the story moves between Now and Before. This is the key to A2 English.

1. The Present/Future (Planning) We use will for things that are going to happen.

  • will make a deal \rightarrow happening soon
  • will change the charge \rightarrow happening soon
  • will wait \rightarrow happening soon

2. The Past (Finished) We add -ed to the action word to show it is over.

  • saw (special form of see)
  • smelled \rightarrow finished
  • failed \rightarrow finished

Quick Guide: If it is a memory \rightarrow use -ed (or special past words). If it is a plan \rightarrow use will.
