Focus: The 'Action-Result' Flow

Look at how we describe a problem and what happens next. This is a key way to tell a story in A2 English.

The Pattern: [Person/Group] $\rightarrow$ [Action] $\rightarrow$ [Result]

Examples from the text:

• Doctor $\rightarrow$ gave bad medicine $\rightarrow$ sent to prison.
• Government $\rightarrow$ wants new laws $\rightarrow$ use AI.
• Middle East $\rightarrow$ has problems $\rightarrow$ energy costs are high.

Simple Word Swap Instead of saying 'The economy is slow', you can use these basic A2 adjectives to describe different situations:

• Slow (not fast/not growing) $\rightarrow$ The traffic is slow.
• High (a lot of money/level) $\rightarrow$ The price is high.
• Angry (not happy) $\rightarrow$ The boss is angry.

Quick Tip: Use 'because of' to link a reason to a result.

• Example: High costs $\rightarrow$ because of $\rightarrow$ problems.
