Focus: The 'Action-Result' Flow

Look at how we describe a problem and what happens next. This is a key way to tell a story in A2 English.

The Pattern: [Person/Group] \rightarrow [Action] \rightarrow [Result]

Examples from the text:

  • Doctor \rightarrow gave bad medicine \rightarrow sent to prison.
  • Government \rightarrow wants new laws \rightarrow use AI.
  • Middle East \rightarrow has problems \rightarrow energy costs are high.

Simple Word Swap Instead of saying 'The economy is slow', you can use these basic A2 adjectives to describe different situations:

  • Slow (not fast/not growing) \rightarrow The traffic is slow.
  • High (a lot of money/level) \rightarrow The price is high.
  • Angry (not happy) \rightarrow The boss is angry.

Quick Tip: Use 'because of' to link a reason to a result.
