🕒 Time & Action

In this story, we see two ways to talk about things that happened in the past. This is key for A2 English.

1. The 'Finished' Action Use this for a specific time that is over.

  • Example: "He went to the hospital."
  • Example: "He lost a lot of weight."
  • Pattern: Action happened → Action finished.

2. The 'Duration' Action Use this when something started in the past and is still happening or lasted for a while.

  • Example: "They have protested for 19 days."
  • Pattern: [Have/Has] + Action → Time period.

🛠️ Word Power: 'Want'

To reach A2, you must know how to express a desire. In the text, we see a simple pattern:

Want + Person + To + Action

  • CJP \rightarrow wants \rightarrow Minister \rightarrow to leave
  • Sonam \rightarrow wants \rightarrow to walk

Quick Tip: Use this to tell people what you need from them!
