Introduction
A man is very sick after a strange object exploded on a beach in California.

Main Body
On July 5, Jason Turner was cleaning a beach. He saw a metal object in the sand. He touched it and the object exploded.

Jason had bad injuries. Doctors cut off his hand. He cannot hear or see well now. He needs more operations in the hospital.

1. The Past (The Event) These words describe a finished moment. We add -ed to the end of the action:

2. The Present (The Current Situation) These words describe the man's life right now. They are simple and direct:
- He is sick.
- He needs help.
- He cannot see.
Quick Tip for A2: If you are telling a story about yesterday, use the -ed words. If you are talking about today, use the simple words.
