⏳ Talking about the Past

In this story, we see how to change action words to show something already happened. This is the most important step for A2 English.

The Pattern: Add "-ed"

  • Protest → Protested
  • Leak → Leaked

The Rule-Breakers (Special Words) Some words change completely. You must memorize these:

  • Become → Became
  • Lose → Lost
  • Go → Went

The "No" Word (Negative Past) When we want to say something did NOT happen, we use did not + the normal word.

  • Wrong: He did not ate. ❌
  • Right: He did not eat. ✅
  • Right: The police did not let. ✅

Quick Summary for your brain: Action happened → add -ed (usually). Action did not happen → use did not + word.
