Nolan went to the island by boat with friends on July 4. He did not come home. His mother told the police. Many groups searched for him and found his body on Monday.

🔍 Spotting the Action

Look at these two sentences from the text:

  1. "He did not come home."
  2. "They found his body."

Notice that when we say "no" (negative), we use did not + the normal word. When we say "yes" (positive), we change the word to the past version.
