⚡️ The 'Power of Did'

In this story, we see a pattern for talking about the past using did.

1. The 'Action' Past When we want to say someone finished something, we change the verb:

  • Put (now) → Put (past) \rightarrow "He put his wife's name..."
  • Win (now) → Won (past) \rightarrow "The Hurricanes won..."

2. The 'Negative' Past To say something did not happen, we use: did not + [basic verb].

Incorrect: They did not won. ✅ Correct: They did not get their names.

Quick Reference:

  • Positive: Won / Put / Removed
  • Negative: Did not get / Did not help

Vocabulary Spot:

  • Removed \rightarrow To take something away.
  • Trophy \rightarrow The big prize cup.
