🌀 The "Past Action" Pattern

Look at these words from the story: brought, died, locked, broke.

These words tell us something happened before now. To talk about the past in English, we usually add -ed to the end of the word.

  • Lock \rightarrow Locked
  • Hurt \rightarrow Hurt (Some words stay the same!)

⚠️ The "No" Rule (Negative Past)

When we want to say something did not happen, we use: Did not + [Basic Word]

Example from text: "They did not want the animals to hurt people."

Notice: We don't say "did not wanted." We use the simple word after "did not."
