A big fire started in Almería. Many people died and other people had to leave their homes.

The fire started near mountains. A broken electric wire probably started the fire. The weather was very hot. It was almost 40°C. The fire burned a lot of land.

At least 11 people died. 19 people are missing. Some people were from other countries. Some people tried to walk through the mountains to escape. This was very dangerous and they died.

Spain sent 400 workers and 17 planes to help. Many people went to safe buildings. The leader of Spain and the Royal Family said they are very sad about the deaths.
