Main Body

Türkiye is building a 'Steel Dome'. This is a big system to find and stop planes or missiles in the air. Many Turkish companies and 100,000 workers help with this project. Türkiye paid Aselsan about 1.47 billion euros.

There are different tools for different heights. The Hisar-A stops things close to the ground. The Hisar-O stops things at a medium height. The Siper system stops things far away.

針對不同高度有不同的工具。Hisar-A 用於攔截靠近地面的目標。Hisar-O 用於攔截中高度目標。Siper 系統則用於攔截遠距離目標。

A computer system called Hakim connects everything. It uses smart technology to see the sky. It helps the army make fast decisions to stop drones and missiles.

🛠️ Building Sentences with 'To'

In this text, we see a very useful pattern for A2 students: Verb + to + Verb.

We use this when one action is the reason for another action. It tells us the purpose.

Look at these examples from the text:

  • "They want to make more tools..." \rightarrow Why do they want? \rightarrow To make tools.
  • "...to protect the sky." \rightarrow Why make tools? \rightarrow To protect the sky.
  • "...to find and stop planes..." \rightarrow Why build the Steel Dome? \rightarrow To find/stop planes.
  • "...to keep the country safe." \rightarrow Why make systems? \rightarrow To keep the country safe.

💡 Simple Rule: If you want to explain "Why?", use to + action word.

Quick Comparison:

  • I study \rightarrow (What?) \rightarrow English.
  • I study to speak \rightarrow (Why?) \rightarrow English.
