Some people are angry. Democrats say this is bad for the elections. Some Republicans say this is good for the country. Experts say this is a problem because the election is soon.

The 'Power' of Action Words

In this story, we see words that describe taking something away or stopping something.

  • Fired / Removed → These mean the person must leave their job.
  • Cannot → This means it is impossible to do something.

How to build a sentence like the text:

[Person] + [Action] + [Object]

Example from text:

  • President Trump (Person) \rightarrow removed (Action) \rightarrow the leaders (Object).

Try this pattern for A2:

  • My boss \rightarrow fired \rightarrow the worker.
  • The teacher \rightarrow removed \rightarrow the student.

Quick Tip: 'Some'

Notice how the text uses 'Some people' and 'Some Republicans'.

Use 'Some' when you don't want to say 'All'. It is a great way to talk about different groups of people without being too specific.
