🌍 Action and Result

In this story, we see things that happened in the past. To move to A2, you need to see how words change when a story is finished.

The 'Past' Pattern Look at these words from the text:

  • Want \rightarrow Wanted
  • Start \rightarrow Started
  • Try \rightarrow Tried

Simple Rule: To talk about yesterday or a finished trip, we usually add -ed to the end of the action word.

🚫 Saying 'No' (Negative Sentences)

When someone stops something from happening, we use did not (or didn't).

  • Wrong: Türkiye not let the ship enter.
  • Right: Türkiye did not let the ship enter.

Key Point: After "did not", the action word stays in its simple form. We don't use "-ed" here because "did" already tells us it is the past.
