Scientists want to know how the birds got sick. Maybe the local birds and the traveling birds lived in the same place. The government is now watching the birds more closely.

科學家想知道這些鳥類是如何染病的。或許本地鳥類與遷徙鳥類生活在同一地點。政府目前正密切監控這些鳥類。

Experts flew planes over the coast to look for dead animals. They did not find many dead seals or birds. Minister Julie Collins says the farm animals are safe. The government's rules are working well.

🔍 Tracking 'The Change'

In this story, we see a shift from Old \rightarrow New. This is a great way to learn how to describe a situation changing.

The Pattern: Before vs. Now

  • Before: "Only birds from other cold countries had the virus."
  • Now: "Twelve birds in Australia have the virus."

💡 Simple Word Swap

To reach A2, you can replace basic words with slightly better ones found in the text:

  • Local \rightarrow native (born there)
  • Looking for \rightarrow watching (checking carefully)

🛠️ Building a Simple Sentence

Look at how the text describes a person and their job:

Minister Julie Collins says...

Formula: [Job Title] + [Name] + [Action]

Example from text: Minister (Job) + Julie Collins (Name) + says (Action)

Try this logic for other people: Teacher + Mr. Smith + speaks \rightarrow Teacher Mr. Smith speaks.
