⚡ The 'Past Action' Pattern

To reach A2, you need to tell stories about things that already happened. Look at how the text uses -ed to change the meaning of a word:

  • Send (now) \rightarrow Sent (finished)
  • Use (now) \rightarrow Used (finished)
  • Try (now) \rightarrow Tried (finished)

Quick Rule: When you see -ed (or a change like send \rightarrow sent), the action is in the past. It is over.

Real-world examples from the text:

  • "Italy sent two Russian men away." \rightarrow (This happened before today).
  • "He used a fake name." \rightarrow (He is not using it now).

Key words to remember:

  • Stole (Past of steal)
  • Died (Past of die)
  • Wanted (Past of want)
