🌧️ Describing the Past

In this story, everything already happened. To talk about the past, we often add -ed to the action word.

Look at these changes:

  • Rain \rightarrow Rained
  • Cover \rightarrow Covered
  • Stop \rightarrow Stopped

⚠️ The "Special" Words

Some words are rebels. They do not follow the -ed rule. You must memorize them as they are:

  • Have \rightarrow Had
  • Die \rightarrow Died (regular, but looks different)
  • Be \rightarrow Were / Was

Examples from the text: "The city had many problems." "Some roads were okay."

💡 Simple Tip for A2

If you want to say something happened yesterday, check if the word is a 'rebel' or a 'regular' (-ed). This is the fastest way to tell a story in English.
