🚫 The Power of "Did Not"

In this story, we see a pattern for saying things did not happen in the past.

The Rule: Did not + Action word (base form)

Examples from the text:

  • Did not go → (They stayed away from court)
  • Did not send → (The paper never arrived)

Why this helps you reach A2: Beginners often try to change the action word (e.g., did not went ❌). Remember: Did not does all the heavy lifting. The action word stays simple.

Quick Map: Present: I do not go. Past: I did not go.

🔍 Word Watch: "Want to"

Notice how the Minister and NCERT express a wish: Want toAction

  • Want to take money
  • Want to know why

Use this to talk about your goals! Example: I want to learn English.
