Main Body
On July 5, Jason Turner found a metal object in the sand. He touched it and the object exploded. He had no phone signal, so he walked to a parking lot to call for help.

Jason lost his hand in the explosion. He also hurt his eye and his ear. Now he cannot work. He has a big family to support.

Police searched the beach. They did not find any pieces of the bomb. They do not know what the bomb was. Police tell people to stay away from strange objects.

⚡ The 'Past' Story Rule
Most of this story uses Past Tense to tell us what happened. Look at these changes:
- Find → Found
- Touch → Touched
- Explode → Exploded
- Walk → Walked
Why this matters for A2: When you tell a story about yesterday or last year, you usually add -ed to the action. Some words are 'rebels' and change completely (like find becoming found).
🔍 Spotting 'Negative' Actions
To say something did NOT happen in the past, we use: did not + action.
- They did not find...
- (They didn't find the pieces).
Simple Tip: Once you use "did not," the action word goes back to its normal, present shape. You don't say "did not found" you say did not find.
