⚡ The 'Action' Words (Past Tense)

In this story, things already happened. To talk about the past, we often just add -ed to the end of the word.

  • Help \rightarrow Helped
  • Want \rightarrow Wanted (not in text, but follows the rule)

Watch out! Some words change completely. They are 'rebels':

  • Fall \rightarrow Fell
  • Lose \rightarrow Lost

📦 Counting Things (Numbers & Amounts)

To reach A2, you must describe how many. Look at these patterns from the text:

  1. The Exact Number: "30,000 workers" (Specific)
  2. The 'More than' Group: "More than 4,300 people" (A high estimate)
  3. The General Group: "Many buildings" (We don't know the exact number, just that it is a lot)

🛠️ Simple Tool: "They say..."

When you want to report what other people think, use this simple bridge:

[People/Group] + say + [The Fact]

  • Example: "They say the government did not bring enough machines."
  • Example: "The government says they helped families."
