🗝️ The 'Still' Pattern

In the text, we see this word twice:

  • "Some people are still missing."
  • "Experts are still looking for them."

What does it mean? Use still when something started in the past and is continuing now. It is like a bridge from yesterday to today.

Simple Rule: [Subject] + [am/is/are] + still + [action/state]

Examples for your life:

  • I am still a student.
  • It is still raining.
  • We are still learning English.

📅 Past vs. Present

Look at how the story moves between two times:

Past (Finished)

  • They met \rightarrow They buried \rightarrow They spoke
  • Tip: Most of these end in -ed.

Present (Now)

  • People are missing \rightarrow A museum helps
  • Tip: These describe the situation today.
