🕒 The 'Now' vs 'Then' Shift

Look at how we describe a person's change in life. We use two different ways to talk about time:

1. The Past (Finished)

  • "A student hurt him" \rightarrow This happened once and is over.
  • "She went to jail" \rightarrow This is a completed action.

2. The Present (Current State)

  • "Now, Ram is kind" \rightarrow This is his personality today.
  • "The show is on Netflix" \rightarrow This is where it is currently.

💡 Quick Rule for A2: When you see the word "Now", switch your verb from the past form (hurt/went/left) to the present form (is/are).

Example from text: Past: She threatened othersPresent: The players are emotional\text{Past: } \text{She threatened others} \rightarrow \text{Present: } \text{The players are emotional}
