🕒 The 'Time Jump' Pattern
In this story, we move from the Present (what is happening now) to the Past (what already happened). This is the most important skill for A2 English.
1. Now (Present)
- Police are looking... → They are doing it right now.
- Leader is angry... → He feels this way today.
2. Then (Past)
- Lived (Live + d)
- Died (Die + d)
- Told (Change from 'Tell')
- Flew (Change from 'Fly')
💡 Quick Rule: To talk about yesterday or last year, most words just need a -d or -ed at the end. Some special words change completely (like fly → flew).
Compare:
- Now: He lives in Ireland.
- Past: He lived in Ireland.
