⚡ Quick Word Shift: 'Making things'

In the text, we see: "This makes oil and gas very expensive."

When we use make + [thing] + [description], we describe a result. This is a very useful A2 pattern for talking about feelings or prices.

Examples from life:

  • This movie \rightarrow makes me sad.
  • The rain \rightarrow makes the street wet.
  • Hard work \rightarrow makes me tired.

🚩 The "No More" Rule

Look at this sentence: "They do not have an agreement anymore."

Use "not... anymore" when a situation changed. It means it happened in the past, but it stopped now.

  • I lived in London \rightarrow I do not live there anymore.
  • He was my friend \rightarrow He is not my friend anymore.
