💡 The 'People' Pattern

Look at how we describe groups of people in this text. We use Number + Person/Group to give a clear picture.

  • 4,000 people died
  • 16,000 people were hurt
  • 50,000 people are missing
  • 19,000 people live in tents

Rule for A2: To talk about a big situation, start with the number and then the person.

Example:

  • 10 students are late → 10 students are late.
  • 100 cars are red → 100 cars are red.

🛠️ Word Pairs (Opposites)

To reach A2, you need to describe things using opposites. This text shows a clear contrast:

Strong \text{---} \to Bad/Cheap

  • Strong: Buildings that stay up.
  • Cheap/Bad: Buildings that fall down.

If a house is cheap, it is often not strong. This is a simple way to explain why something happened.
