In this story, everything happened in the past. To tell a story about yesterday or last week, we often add -ed to the action word.
Look at these changes:
- Play → Played
- Stop → Stopped
- Help → Helped
Wait! Some words are rebels. They don't follow the -ed rule. You just have to memorize them:

- Go → Went
