🛑 Talking about the Past

When we talk about things that already happened, we often add -ed to the action word.

Look at these examples from the text:

  • Choose \rightarrow Chose (Special change)
  • Look \rightarrow Looked
  • Check \rightarrow Checked
  • Hurt \rightarrow Hurt (No change!)

✍️ How to say "No" in the past

If you want to say someone did NOT do something, use this simple formula: DID NOT + Action Word (Normal form)

  • Wrong: He did not checked. ×\times
  • Right: He did not check. \checkmark
  • Right: These things were not true. \checkmark

Quick Tip: Once you use "did not," the action word goes back to its normal, present-day look.
