🌡️ The 'Too' Effect

In the text, we see: "It was too hot."

When we use too before a word, it means "more than we want" or "a problem."

  • Hot \rightarrow Okay
  • Too hot \rightarrow Bad/Problem

Compare these:

  • The race is long. (Fact)
  • The race is too long. (I am tired/It is a problem)

⏳ Past vs. Now

Notice how the story moves through time:

Yesterday (Past) \rightarrow The weather was hot. The riders worked hard. Today (Present) \rightarrow The riders are tired. They need a day to rest.

Quick Tip: Use -ed for things that already happened (work \rightarrow worked).
