Report on Crimes by Children and Sexual Violence in India

Introduction

The National Crime Records Bureau has a new report. It shows crimes by children and sexual assault cases in India.

Main Body

More children committed crimes in India between 2023 and 2024. In Bihar, these crimes went up a lot. But in Uttar Pradesh, these crimes went down. Delhi has the most child crimes for its population. Many people who commit sexual assault know the victim. In India, almost 97% of victims knew the person who hurt them. Some victims knew the person as a neighbor, a boss, or a family friend. Many victims are children. In one city, 47 out of 96 victims were children. Most of these children were between 12 and 16 years old. The police are still working on many of these cases.

Conclusion

Child crime is different in each state. Most sexual assault cases happen between people who know each other.
