Learning

⚡ Action Words: Now vs. Then

In this story, we see two ways to talk about things happening. This is the secret to moving from A1 to A2.

1. Finished Actions (The Past) When the game is over, we add -ed or change the word. It happened and it is done.

  • Play → Played
  • Score → Scored
  • Win → Won (Special change!)
  • Move → Moved

2. Happening Right Now (The Continuous) When someone is currently doing something, we use is + -ing.

  • Shubman Gill is playing... (He is doing it right now)
  • ...and scoring... (He is still doing it)

Quick Comparison:

  • Past: Bengaluru won the game. (Game over → Result known)
  • Now: Shubman Gill is playing well. (Game continues → Action moving)

Vocabulary Tip: Almost → Not 100%, but very close. Example: The matches are almost finished. → 95% done.
