1. Things that are finished (Past) Look at the word WON.

When we talk about a race that is over, we change the action word (verb) to show it happened before now.

2. Things that are happening or planned (Present/Future) Look at these patterns:

  • Wants \rightarrow She wants to break a record. (A feeling right now)
  • Prepare \rightarrow They prepare for more races. (An action they are doing now)
