Vocabulary Learning

🕰️ Talking about the Past

In this story, we see a very common way to talk about things that already happened. We use -ed at the end of action words.

Look at these changes:

  • Talk \rightarrow Talked
  • Want \rightarrow Wanted
  • Worry \rightarrow Worried

💡 The 'Not' Rule for the Past

When we want to say something did not happen, we use did not + the normal word. We do not add -ed here.

  • Wrong: They did not talked.
  • Right: They did not talk.

Examples from the text:

  • "They were not friends" (Using 'were' for the past)
  • "They did not talk much" (Using 'did not' for the past)
