🕒 The 'Back Then' Rule

Look at these words from the story:

  • wrote (write → wrote)
  • came (come → came)
  • hit (hit → hit)
  • was (is → was)
  • flew (fly → flew)
  • told (tell → told)

What is happening here? These words tell us about things that already finished. To move to A2, you must stop using 'is' or 'go' when talking about yesterday.

The 'Wrong' vs 'Right' way: ❌ The plane is too slow. (Now) ✅ The plane was too slow. (Past)

Quick Pattern: Subject + Past Action + Detail

  • The captain \rightarrow did not listen \rightarrow to the pilot.
  • The pole \rightarrow fell \rightarrow on a truck.
