⚡ The Power of "STILL"

In this text, we see the word still used many times. For an A2 student, this is a goldmine. It tells us that something started in the past and is not finished now.

How it works:

  • Soldiers are still fighting \rightarrow (They fought yesterday \rightarrow They fight now).
  • People are still dying \rightarrow (They died before \rightarrow They die now).
  • Israel still attacks \rightarrow (They attacked before \rightarrow They attack now).

🛠 Simple Logic: "But"

Notice how the author connects two opposite ideas using But.

Idea A \rightarrow But \rightarrow Idea B (The Problem)

  1. Peace plan \rightarrow But \rightarrow It does not work.
  2. War stopped \rightarrow But \rightarrow Israel attacks.
  3. Government agreed \rightarrow But \rightarrow Hezbollah says no.

Rule: Use "But" when you want to surprise the reader or show a conflict.
