Help for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

援助紮波羅基亞核電廠

Introduction

The IAEA helped Russia and Ukraine stop fighting for a short time. They want to fix the electricity at the nuclear power plant.

IAEA 協助俄羅斯與烏克蘭達成短暫停火,希望修復核電廠的電力供應。

Main Body

The power plant has a big problem. It needs electricity to keep the reactors cool. One big power line is broken. The plant uses a small backup line, but it often fails. This is very dangerous.

Rafael Grossi from the IAEA talked to both sides. They agreed to stop fighting so workers can remove mines and fix the big power line. However, some Russian soldiers were hurt during this work.

Other fighting continues in Ukraine. Drones and missiles still hit different cities. The area around the power plant is not safe.

烏克蘭的其他地區仍持續戰鬥。無人機與飛彈依然擊中不同城市。核電廠周邊區域並不安全。

⚡ The 'Need' Pattern

In this story, something is missing or broken. To describe a necessity, we use need + [thing/action].

1. Needing a thing:

  • "It needs electricity."
  • "The plant needs the big power line."

2. Needing to do something:

  • "Workers need to fix the line."
  • "They need to remove mines."

🛠️ Action Words for Fixing

When things break, we use these simple words:

  • Broken \rightarrow Not working (The line is broken).
  • Fix \rightarrow Make it work again (Fix the line).
  • Remove \rightarrow Take away (Remove mines).

Quick Tip: If something is broken, you fix it. If something is dangerous (like a mine), you remove it.
