⚡ The 'Action' Pattern

Look at how the story tells us what happened. It uses simple words to describe movements. This is the fastest way to reach A2: Subject + Action.

1. The Simple Sequence

  • They \rightarrow attacked
  • They \rightarrow threw
  • They \rightarrow chased
  • They \rightarrow pushed
  • They \rightarrow stabbed

2. Understanding the 'Past' In this text, most action words end in -ed. This tells us the event is finished.

  • Like \rightarrow Liked
  • Attack \rightarrow Attacked
  • Push \rightarrow Pushed

3. The Exception (The 'Tricky' Words) Some words change completely. You must memorize these common ones:

  • Go \rightarrow Went (The boys went to the beach)
  • Give \rightarrow Gave (One boy gave a knife)
  • Say \rightarrow Said (The jury said...)

Quick Tip: To describe a past event, find the action and add -ed, unless it is a 'Tricky' word!
