Vocabulary Learning
⏱️ Now vs. Then
Look at how the story talks about things that are finished and things that are still happening. This is the secret to A2 English.
1. The Finished Past We use a special form for things that already happened.
- Example: "The judge gave Bennett 19 months."
- Example: "He killed a boy."
Pattern: Most of the time, just add -ed (attacked, scared). But some words change completely (give → gave).
2. The Happening Now When something is not finished, we use "is" or "are".
- Example: "The case is still happening."
- Example: "Some people are angry."
Quick Guide: Finished → Gave / Attacked / Killed Now → Is / Are
Vocabulary Note:
- On purpose → You wanted to do it. (Not an accident).
- Fair → Right or honest.
