🏁 The 'Past Action' Pattern

To tell a story about a race, we change the action word (verb) to show it already happened. Most words just get an -ed at the end.

Look at these changes:

  • Race \rightarrow Raced
  • Pass \rightarrow Passed
  • Finish \rightarrow Finished
  • Start \rightarrow Started

⚠️ Watch out for 'Rule Breakers'! Some words change completely. You must memorize these:

NowPastExample from Text
WinWonLachlan Turner won the race.
FallFellSome riders fell.
GetGotCannon got third place.
BreakBrokeShe broke a rule.

Quick Tip: Use these "Past" words when you talk about yesterday, last week, or a race that is over.
