⏱️ The "Past vs. Now" Switch

Look at how we talk about things that finished and things happening currently. This is the key to A2 storytelling.

1. The 'Finished' Side (Past) We add -ed to the action or change the word to show it happened yesterday or before.

  • post → posted
  • answer → answered
  • show → showed
  • feel → felt (special change!)

2. The 'Now' Side (Present) We use the word as it is, or add -ing for things happening right now.

  • is resting \rightarrow Happening now
  • getting better \rightarrow Happening now
  • wants \rightarrow A fact about her now

Quick Logic Map: Health problem happened \rightarrow She was scared (Past) Health problem is over \rightarrow She is resting (Now)

Watch out for 'NOT':

  • Past: She was not with her.
  • Present: It is not an accident.
