🚨 Telling Stories About the Past

When we talk about things that already happened, we change the action words.

The Simple Shift Most words just get an -ed at the end:

  • Look \rightarrow Looked
  • Wait \rightarrow Waited
  • Arrest \rightarrow Arrested

The Rule-Breakers Some words change completely. You just have to remember them:

  • Die \rightarrow Died (Easy!)
  • Drive \rightarrow Drove (Different!)
  • Break \rightarrow Broke (Different!)

The 'No' Word To say someone didn't do something, use did not + the original word:

  • He did not have a license. (Not "did not had")
  • He did not wait. (Not "did not waited")
