Main Body

FIFA will take items after the games. They will put these items in museums in Zurich, Hong Kong, Miami, and Vancouver. Some old items are not in museums. Some people or private clubs have them.

FIFA 將在賽事結束後收取物品。他們會將這些物品放置在蘇黎世、香港、邁阿密和溫哥華的博物館中。有些舊物品不在博物館內,而是由私人人士或私人俱樂部持有。

In the past, some items were lost. One person burned goalposts in 1950. Other people sold old boots and balls for a lot of money. FIFA found one old trophy part in 2015.

Vocabulary Learning

🌍 Where are the things?

Look at how we describe places and locations in the text. This is key for A2 level speaking.

1. The 'In' Pattern We use in for cities, countries, and buildings.

  • In Zurich → City
  • In Brazil → Country
  • In museums → Building
  • In private homes → Building

2. The 'For' Pattern We use for to show who something belongs to or what it is about.

  • Museum for Pelé → The museum is about him.

3. Word Swap: Old vs. Now Notice the shift in time words:

  • In the past → used for things that happened long ago (burned goalposts).
  • Now → used for things happening at this moment (collecting items).

Quick Guide: My Collection If you want to talk about your things, try these blocks:

  • "I have a [thing] in my [room]."
  • "This is a gift for my [friend]."
