Introduction

Many people in Albania are angry. They are protesting a new project for expensive hotels.

Main Body

A company wants to build big hotels on an island and near the water. This project costs billions of dollars. Many animals live there. Pink flamingos, seals, and turtles live in this area. People want to protect these animals.

Prime Minister Edi Rama likes the project. He says it will bring more money and tourists to Albania. But nature groups disagree. They say the hotels will destroy the land. They say the company already started building in a protected area.

Some people think the government gave permission for the hotels to help the US government. Now, a special agency is checking if the project is legal. This company tried to build a hotel in Serbia before, but people stopped them there too.

Conclusion

The government says the project is legal. However, people are still protesting and the police are investigating.

Vocabulary Learning

🌍 Learning 'Who does what' (Simple Present)

Look at how the story describes the world. We use a simple pattern to say things that are true right now.

The Secret Rule: When we talk about one person or one thing, we add an -s to the action word.

  • The Company (one thing) → wants to build
  • The Government (one thing) → says the project is legal
  • A special agency (one thing) → is checking (happening now)

When to keep it simple (No -s): If there are many people, the action word stays basic.

  • People (many) → want to protect
  • Animals (many) → live there
  • Nature groups (many) → disagree
